Polar Tourism?

In Readers' Workshop, the kids read a debate regarding polar tourism.  They then used their comparing matrix to gather and record authors' points of view and supporting evidence.  Using their matrix, and with a partner, the kids wrote about the issue, comparing the different authors' points of views.  What students are writing is incredible. So proud of them! Take a look at some examples below (please excuse their orientation, I couldn't "rotate" the pictures).

As you know, the kids took the Mathematics portion of PARCC today.  This will continue into tomorrow (1-3).  Just a friendly reminder, please encourage your child (if possible) to leave their phones at home, if applicable.  Thank you for your cooperation!
