In Writers' Workshop, students practiced using strong opinion statements and supportive reasoning to defend their thinking, in our mini lesson. They then applied this strategy to their own writing about SeaWorld, using their research and facts to help them.
In Readers' Workshop, we identified "Again and Again's" while using our close reading ritual to help us discover new ideas about text and life.
In Science, I slowly revealed a flat representation of our continents. Students noticed characteristics of placement and space to discover that the contents were once altogether (Pangea). Tomorrow we will explore what caused this natural phenomenon.
Students visited Reading Beaver Block today.
