In Writers' Workshop, students learned to use weather to intensify a good or bad moment in their fairy tales.
In Readers' Workshop, students are learning comprehension strategies to help them read and think through fantasy and folklore texts. Today, students learned to look for clues that indicate time period to help them get a mental movie going. Additionally, the Holes book club began reading today. The other book clubs will begin as soon as I get all the books; I had to order many online.
In Science, students noticed and noted the differences between the light and dark leaves in order to explore leaves' functions. Ask your child the main difference between what the leaves look like (A: Color- light leaf is mostly light green/ yellow, dark leaf is deep green). Ask them why they think the colors differ so greatly (A: sunlight).
