In Writers' Workshop, students continued working on their book trailers. Today, the kids practiced generating enticing questions that will urge their viewers to read the book.
In Readers' Workshop, book clubs met and planned projects that will capture their thinking and learning from their book club book.
In Science, students used observation data to support their claim about the stem and its functions. Ask your child what stems' purposes are and how they know that (A: Move water up the plant to the leaves. We know this because red dyed water moved quickly (within an hour) up the stem of our celery).
In Number Talks, students learned a number sense strategy to help them quickly add: Use multiplication and tens to add in chunks.
